Elephants are the biggest land animals in the world. They live in Africa and Asia. Elephants are mammals and herbivores, they only eat plants and they do not eat animals. There are two types of elephants: the African elephant and the Indian elephant. African elephant is bigger than the Indian elephant and has very big ears. The African elephant is grey. The Asian elephant is smaller than the African elephant and has smaller ears. Indian elephants are also grey.

Elephants eat food from trees and plants. Elephants also use their trunk to drink and smell. A baby elephant is called a calf. The babies drink the mother’s milk. Asian and African elephants live in different habitats like grasslands and forests. They live in humid and dry environments.
Elephants can be domesticated and in history, people domesticated them to make them help in daily life.
